March 29: I was told (and I have noticed) this new DownRight v2.1 Theme doesn't work correctly in MIE < 7! So the template is down for now. And I will fix this, of course. I do apologize to the folks who have tried this v2.1! Hi Thur, I use your Downright v1.4 on my blog Bonnie Writes. I would like to make the whole thing fixed, like you use here on the Blogger Workshop, rather than the fluid that it is now. Can you tell me what to do to change that please. Because of SEO, I want to have the main load first, [...] . Thank you for your help, in advance! Hi Bonnie, [ status: completed! ] [ click image to view DownRight v1.4 page ] [ click image to view DownRight v2.1 page ] ![]() As promised I have copied the original DownRight v1.4, and made some alterations using negative margins, any order columns and opposite floats (as I gratefully learned from Alessandro Fulciniti)! Resulting in a DownRight v2.1 Blogger Theme featuring: 3-columnHere is the xml MarkUp: <!-- start content --> <div id='content_wrap'> <!-- start header --> <div id='header_wrap'> </div> <!-- end header --> <!-- start main --> <div id='main_wrap'> </div> <!-- end main --> <!-- start left sidebar --> <div id='leftbar_wrap'> </div> <!-- end left sidebar --> <!-- start right sidebar --> <div id='rightbar_wrap'> </div> <!-- end right sidebar --> <!-- start #footer --> <div id='footer_wrap'> lt;/div> <!-- end #footer --> </div> <!-- end content --> I have tested the v2.1 in MIE 5/6/7, FireFox and Opera (not in Safari!!!). Notice: Because the margin settings are very very strict one should not set any border-width to 0px. Alter the border-color to match the page-background-color instead! |

Hi Thur,
Love the info on your site. I was thinking of using the DownRight v.1.4 template, but can't change the text color. I tried the Blogger layout and changing the html. Can you help? Thank you in advance.
Hi,
In the DownRight Post Font Color and Sidebar Font Color can be changed separately using the variables Post Color and Side Font Color.
Regards.
Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you...I am salivating at the prospects....I'm downloading now!
You so rock! Thur. The new template is LIVE at Bonnie Writes
Hey Thur, I've had two people tell me that they see the right sidebar at the left bottom of the page (One person sent me a screen shot) but I can't see it wrong.
I use both IE and Firefox and everything looks fine.
One person is using SBC Yahoo, the other has his connection through Yahoo but is using IE!
Do you see it correctly or incorrectly?
Hi Bonnie,
Yep, so I have noticed.
I THOUGHT I had tested all browsers, but apparently this one does NOT work in MIE < 7.
I shall try to fix the problem.
Until that moment I'll take the template offline.
Wahhhh....but, but, but...I don't want to take my v2.1 offline *sniff*
LOL...Then my headline Animator will have to go becuase it's too wide for the scenter column in a fluid state.
I'll just post a disclaimor until your get it worked out!
I am loving the 3-column template for the new blogger. Works like a champ :-) Thank you!!
Hello Thur,
I have used your template for my 2 blogs and they look so good. Thank you!
Just used your template-it was awesome and easy! Thanks so much! I am sposoring an "improve your blog month" and will be recommending your site to everyone.
Dag! I am an American woman here in Cleveland Ohio but both of my parents are dutch (from Den Haag!). I know you are busy, but I have been trying to change my blog format to 3-column for months and can not figure it out! I came across your site and was wondering if you would be willing to take a second (well...let's be honest, it will probably be a bit more than that!) and help me with this. PLEASE!!!
One question though-how do I change the color of just the sidebar or center boxes but leave the "background" color different?
Hi Thur,
I too have just used your template for my blog, and I love how it looks! I just really need your help with one tiny problem I'm having. When I click on either post titles/time posted and go to each post page, comments don't show except names and time. Please help! Thanks.
i want to use this template for my blog but i don't get it.where should i put those xml markup?
Hey there! I just created my blog using your template. LOVE the look of it (THANK YOU!) I was doing all my editing in Firefox then went to check it in IE and nada. I'm afraid I used the template you took down? Can you check my site and let me know??? THANK YOU! Is there a similar template I can use until you get this one up and runningin IE?

Hi,
it's a great template. I wonna use it for a my blog. Under wich licence is this Template? CC; Gnu FDL?
Hi there,
I just uploaded Downright 1.4 and got it all good and sexy at my blog Boiled Dinner. I love the template, so thanks so much for creating it and making it available. One question: I tried to change the post title color, but could not for the life of me figure out why it remained the link color instead of my chosen post title color. Then my brain kicked in and I realized it's because the post titles are also links to the individual post. Since you can click on the time posted and get the same link, I'd prefer to not have the post titles be links. How would I go about making that change?
Thanks again!
I've just installed DownRight v.1.4.
I've been looking for a good 3 column template for sooo long and it's brilliant.
I'm having one problem though that I don't know how to fix. I have a few posts with ordered lists.
But in 1.4 they just appear with no numbers beside them. Can I fix this?
nice template, can I use this
Help. I can load the 2.0 version, but the layout mode does not work. It only show two collumns, not three.
Am I a dope? Do I have to do something with the xml code?
Help
Hi Meneer Thur,
Is your DownRight v2.1 3-column template for old classic Blogger or New Blogger? I tested it and it couldn't preview or save.

Hi Thur,
I right-click on the DownRight v2.1 fixed width download link and chosed "saved target as..". The file was saved as a HTML file, not a xml file and I couldn't upload it to the blog. What did I do wrong?
Peter
Hi 10buckchuck and Peter,
As I have written in this post's update: the template is taken down, so there is nothing behind that [download] link!
I guess I have to disable that link completely, for now you are downloading the generated WorkShop html page itself. And that is not a template :-)
The DownRight is supposed to be a Layout Template (when it is working :-( )
regards,
Thur
ok...thanks
uhhh....do you think you will be able to get a template up for us newbies?
Hi Thur
I had downloaded your template god knows how many years ago :) but never started the blog - and now when i decided to work on it, messed something up - look at the site - what did i do to make all previous posts become shorter and shorter?? Is it better to download one of your newer templates? Thanks so much!! Appreciate any help.. could i send you the template copy?
Hello,
I use 1.4 and have somehow messed it up so that the words on the far right of SOME posts don't show up. I've gone back to the original, yours, and tried to see what I did, but I am stumped.
Any advise?
Thanks,
Suzanne
sorry for the typo. That should have been "any advice?"
I figured it out. Thanks for the lovely template.
Hi Meneer Thur,
Thanks a million for the templates. I have used the DownRight (fixed and fluid) templates for these two blogs:
Weight Control Tips and
Articles on Fitness
and they display fine in Internet Explorer, FireFox and Opera. However, in Flock, the left sidebar is displaced to the left so that it overlaps with the main column. I have posted a screenshot at the bottom of this post:

hi
i'm trying to download journalist v. 1.0, but i can't. can you fix the link or help me?
thanks.
Check out my blog, it has three simple columns. cool job Thur. thx
Hey i have joined your blog family, meaning that i have downloaded your template :D
Loving it so far.
Like the 3 column minima template and have tried putting in. Was successful but it gets rid of any sidebar content I previously had. Is there a way to make alterations to the template so that I don't loose absolutely any of my content? Also--will this template allow me to eventually add my own header? Would appreciate any advice. New to blogging so please keep any explanations simple. :0)
Hi, I have troubles uploading the new template in my blog... how can I resolve it?
I saved the link in my hard disc and then I have uploaded but when I see my blog there are no changes at all!
Actually, correction, in IE6.0, it moves the main post down below the last sidebar items on either the left or right, whichever is lower.
I'll check back for a fix. I've tried changing margins, to no avail. A float thing?

(Have you all noticed that nonblogger blog's links don't show up, even though you type in your site below the sign in name with blogger?)
I appreciated this post, it's a great help to anyone new to the group - wish I'd had it a couple of weeks ago when I was engaged in an important work at for a MNC client.!
I've got papers and diagrams all over the desk and floor trying to
identify up all the various people (not just the ars guys).
Thanks also for your reply to previous post and the very useful list of links contained in it - I'll get a handle on all this yet ;)
Cheers
I really need to fix this issue again in the new template.
the images inserted in a post bleed into the previous post. see http://sicpress.blogspot.com/ see the most recent post. the image in one post bleeds across the previous three.
there is something missing in the template code that 'ends' the post. but i can't remember what we had to fix in the v1.1 that was such a long time ago. please tell me what to fix? please
My blog is loading well with Firefox but when trying to load with Internet Explorer its not open and offers to save unknown file name get-degree-online.blogspot[1]. I am using Downright 1.4 template and my blog url is: http://get-degree-online.blogspot.com
How can I fix it?
I love your templates! I have Downright 1.4 on both of my blogs. Question is on one blog I replaced the title and description with an image. In IE the image is centered, in Firefox it leans to the left. My graphic artist and I can't seem to get the image the right size for the space and I went through the html and for the life of me can't find the code that would center my title image for Firefox. Can you help?
Thanks for all you do for us bloggers!
Thur,
I have been using the 1.4 template with the New Blogger and lost the peek-a-boo comments option. Is there a way to get that back? I googled it and the site everyone refers to wont load. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the great template it is the best.
Thur,
Wondering where I add the code for expandable post summaries? My posts can be long so the ability to add this would be great but I am not sure where to put the code. Bloggers instructions are somewhat vague and I can't seem to correlate their tags to yours. Any help is appreciated.
