Installing a new template in Blogger

Because there are questions about how to install a new template in Blogger here's a Quick Guide:

Download the desired template

Right-click on the download link (that is [download] or [.txt]) and choose 'Save Link As ...' (or 'Save Target As ...')



Save your current template first

Chances are you have coded several additions in your current template.
So first you should save the old template somewhere.

Blogger Dashboard > Template > Edit current



Select ('Ctrl A'), Copy ('Ctrl C') and Paste ('Ctrl V') the template code in a file.

Install the new template

Open the saved new (tb_b_20060122_black.txt or whatever) template file .
Select, Copy and Paste the new code in the Template Edit Window.

If you have any addition you want in the new template, you should copy them from the old one.
Activate the new template (Save Template Changes)



Then choose Republish (You must Republish your blog to see the changes) ... and you are done!

Hi - thank you so much for these great 3-column templates. However, could you give me a hint as to how to change the general font-size (of the post body) of tb_b_20050917_tan while maintaining the other font sizes? I'd like it to be about 0.9 to 0.8 of what it is right now...

hi,
i was not able to load ur template on my blogger.Every time i tried they were showing me the error message such as....
"Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly.
XML error message: The content of elements must consist of well-formed character data or markup."
will any one plz help me out in solving this pblm.

Hello sir,
You are doing gr8 job and no doubt all ur templates are awesome.
I just want to ask how to hide 'Navbar'? what changes should I make in ur given templates?
I found other blogs having this info abt hiding navbar but looks like it doesnt work with ur teplates and made for blogspot templates only. I would like to see ur next post on this topic, if u know...Iam waiting.

No-one cannot use these templates anymore as their are designed for previous blogger version. XML error appears as many has reported allready, but let us know if you convert them to new betablogger OR if you know how to convert the code for betablogger.
