Template List added

Because this place keeps growing I have listed most templates in the left sidebar. That's an easier look-up for the visitors, I guess.

Didn't include the FIXED layout (tb_b_20050901_black and tb_b_20050901_silver) though. As a rule: don't use them!

And while I was at it: I also made a Blogger Clones section :-)Because that (beautiful) Rounders layout depends on a few images I only added a second sidebar, leaving the Header and Footer a bit out-of-place. Of course it is better to give the Header and Footer the proper width, like in

[ view ] [ .htm ] [ .txt ]

but then you will need a new corners_cap_bot.gif and corners_cap_top.gif.

You can pick them up here:

[ corners_cap_985_bot ]
[ corners_cap_985_top ]

Please, host the images somewhere and place your URL in the code:

http://ADD YOUR URL HERE/corners_cap_985_bot.gif (2x)
http://ADD YOUR URL HERE/corners_cap_985_top.gif (2x).

Thur,
I am trying out your 3 column Minima on a new blog. Can you tell me how to use a repeating gif for the background? It is 1x900 pixel and I use this kind of thing for Dreamweaver pages but so far can't get it to work on the blogger new blog.
Appreciate your efforts on the three column front.

Hey Thur,

Great job on the templates, and you keep coming up with new ones. Really great. I appreciate it a lot.

Some suggestions/friendly requests; I have been messing around with your black Minima style 3 column template. It works pretty well. Even though I added a few tweaks, I really don't know what I'm doing. I just tried to work the template without destroying it.

I would love to have the center text in a serif font, while the side text stays as is. Also, it would be very cool if the background color on all boxes could be individually altered.

Any ideas on how to do it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again.

Howdy Thur!

Great Rounders modification! I liked it so much, I just switched over to it this week. Trouble is, it's great on everything but IE. On IE, the right sidebar shoots to the very bottom underneath the post window.

Anything you can suggest to fix this problem?

I love the Rounded template.

In the process of implementing it now.

Hi Trusty Getto (and others),

Right, right, right ... it's great on EVERYTHING.

Please, do not immediately blame the template(s) (or me) when things are mucked up :-(
A 99.99% chance there is something (terribly) wrong in your (your!) code.

1) of course I responded mannerly to Trusty Getto's question !
2) I'm just kidding !!
3) NO, I AM NOT !!!

Regards,

Thur.

Question: I love the look of the rounded form. But becasue they have to use the gif as template is there no way to combine the look of the rounded edges and the ability to be fluid like the 3 column templates?

Like a fixed two side columns @ 200px and a fluid middle but with rounded edges for all.

Luis Damasco said...

Well all that has been said here is very true these are some of the best templates around. Concerning what trusty getto said. It is true that blog performs badly on IE and that is because of the posts not the actual Template. This does not happen on FireFox or Opera. So if you look at the same site with the last two browsers you won’t see any problem but if you use IE the right side bar will move to the bottom. To fix this edit your posts “try to see which is causing the problem” and everything will go back to normal. I don’t know if there is a way to completely solve this without editing your Posts, maybe Thur can help clarify this. One more thing, this happens with all Templates being Thur’s or Blogger templates.

Look at my blog www.portugalalive.blogspot.com with IE and choose to see old post From Jan or Dec to see that this does happen.

Luis Damasco said...

I also wanted to ask, do you have any tutorials on how to link posts to create the “related posts “effect. I also noticed that you have a “links to this post” option and I would like to know how to activate or create it. Thanks.

Luis,

See the first bullet above: there's a link to Blogger's the BlogItemBacklinks code!

Oh Thur, my man, I managed to muck up your template once again. Following your last email, I fixed my coding problem in my left sidebar, and it worked beautifully in IE once again. Trouble is, I must've changed something else now inadvertently, b/c the right sidebar is again jumping to the bottom (but only in IE). Whatever problem I've caused doesn't seem to affect Firefox, Safari, or Netscape. Any ideas?

trusty getto said...

Oh, I spoke too soon. Luis was correct, it is a posting problem. Dang . . . .

Hello,

I love your template. I have been looking for a similar one but I didn't like any of them. I have modified the colors in order to give it a more personal touch.

But I have done something that makes my rigth sidebar to go to the bottom when using Explorer, the same thing that affected Trusty Getto.

Can you help me, please? My html knowledge is very poor.

Luis Damasco said...

Thanks for the answer Thur. The template already has the code incorporated. The only thing I’m still looking for is how to link my posts so that if people are reading one about soccer there would be a related link to other soccer stories that I might have posted in the past. Blackonion the answer you search has already been posted here (read above).

Thanks for the terrific code and the advice to fix that right sidebar in IE issue. My blog looks loads better thanks to you.

Hi again.
I see that the solution is: To fix this edit your posts “try to see which is causing the problem” and everything will go back to normal.

I will try to modify the size of the photos.

Thanks

Hello Thur
Your plates are very nice indeed. I will attempt to use one of yours. I'm quite new to this blog thing so forgive me if I do not understand all the host imaging and the rest. I'll do my best to use only the basics. If for whatever reason I have broken a rule please advise and I will immediately correct it.

Hey there, awesome templates... I'm sooo glad I found that you've made some 3-column templates as they're so much better.
Anyhow I am having the same problem with my right-hand link list dropping to the bottom when viewed in IE with my current template. I noticed you helped someone with a coding fix for this. Is there any way you could share some wisdom on this my way? I would appreciate it muchly.
My email: allthingscfnm@gmail.com
THANKS!

Similar to the post from cfnmer, I'm also having trouble with IE dropping the right hand sidebar content to the bottom of the page. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I really love the Rounders 3 improvements you've made...especially the 3 columns. I am currently using Bloggers Rounders 3 and would love to switch to your version (3 column), but I don't know how to do it. I'm a novice, but am eager to learn. Also, when I do this, will all of my posts switch over to the new version?

Many thanks, in advance,
Tempest

I ran into the same problem with your adapted rounders3 template.

Seems the right side bar drops because the main area is a little too wide. Changing---> #main {
width:485px; so that to 480 stopped the problem for me.

Now the new problem I have is that I lost the rounding on the right side of the center section. :-(

I know I will need to change that graphic and host it once it is changed, but I am not sure how I need to change it, or even how to change it.

Any advice you might have would be greatly appreciated! Email: GideonHawke(at)aol.com

Thor, thank you for pointing me to your 3 colum template from the blogger forums. I have been playing around with it for a bit and love it.

I'm also having the same problems with the graphics corners now that I have changed the width. How do I fix the graphics to work with my new widths.

I thought I could just make new ones and replace the url inthe code but that made a mess out of things.

Thank you so much again.

This looked great; exactly what I wanted...in firefox. In explorer was having trouble with the right sidebar jumping to the bottom. I changed the main width to 480 but then the rounded edge was not right. I changed margins to 10px and the main width to 483 and it looked fine...with my screen resolution 1152 by 864. In 800 by 600, a reader could only see two columns. any suggestions?

Hey Thur,
Cool work with the templates . . . . wonder if you can give me some advice?
I'm using the standard Rounders 3 template for my blog, and am trying to insert AdSense in the Right-Hand sidebar (in the Links panel). I want to make the Ads appear as if they're part of the sidebar (or maye transparent - ie with the same colour background as the sidebar) and need to know the background, and text colours used in the sidebar - as hex colours (ie: FFF456) Can you help Please?

Also, it would help if I could actually FIND the sidebar colour - as you may have noticed, I'm only a novice at html, and I guess this is NOT html eh?

Thanks,

thur said...

Steve,

Colours in the sidebar:

background = #112233 (or #123)
titles = #AABBCC (or #ABC)
links = #99DDBB (or #9DB)

Good luck!

Thor,

I'm having the same problem others are having with IE - where the right hand content goes to the bottom of the page and also when you lose the rounded edges. I have changed the width on the #main area to 480 (instead of 485) and it still doesn't address the problem. My blog address is http://xtraordinaryliving.blogspot.com/

appreciate your help.

Warmest Regards,

Rick

Her name is Thur! Not Thor... :D

Can I have some help with my layout on gtdelta.blogspot.com? You'll see what's wrong when you get there. The content is all messed up. NEED ADVICE! Thanks,
Delta

thur said...

Hi Delta,

And it is HIS name ... I'm a HE :-)

About your gtdelta pages: yes they are a great mess. You should look carefully at the way you are closing all layout-boxes.
For example: the CONTENT box only stretches as far as the SIDEBAR_A; all others are outside the CONTENT (and therefor do not have the needed margins).

Good luck,

Thur

Hello Thur,

my problem is getting the template in blogger beta. It work perfectly in the old version but I´m interested in renew it building a blog in the new version of blogger.

I thought It´d be easy... and have just become a smoker again!

Hi Thur,
I'm in the same boat as Geo... I have a blogger beta rounders template and I would love to get a new version. Any ideas on if you'd be up to helping us?

Hey there,

I am currently using the standard 2 column rounders3 template from blogspot & would like to know how to use your 3 column rounders template. It gives me an error about not being able to parse through when trying to add yours in. My guess is that because when I converted to the beta.blogspot, they have gone from html to xml. Does that makes sense? Any ideas?

Anonymous said...

Tried minima 3 column - unfortunately it doesn't work properly. The posts are pushed down to below the sidebars. Any ideas?

thur said...

Sighhhh ...

HOW can I have any clue when you do not provide any further information (like your URL, for instance)?!?

Did you see the topic " Blogger Bug when using the MINIMA" (Friday, April 14, 2006)?

Could very well be the problem!

But again: that "Any ideas?" IS a strange (blunt?) question.

You are not the only one, btw.

Thur.
